Socks!
I finished sock #1 and started sock #2 with my Panda Cotton in lullaby colors. I’d post a picture but I’m too lazy…okay…my iPhone is here beside me, I guess since I’d don’t even have to get off the couch:

The k4, p4 ribbing looks better in person than it does in the picture, some of that is probably a problem of perspective
I struggled through the short rows on the toe and heel; those wrapped stitches are hard for me to pick up. So I’ve decided I’m mad at Tempe, my knitting mentor, because she didn’t clue me in to this much better short row method. I didn’t discovery this until after I’d made it through the heel on sock #1. I just finished the toe on sock #2 with this new method and it was soooo much easier and I think looks better without the bulkiness of the wrapped stitches. Of course, that bulkiness might be due to the skill of the knitter.
I remember the days when I was raising a family that I longed for a few hours to myself to do whatever I wanted. It seemed like every minute I wasn’t working was scheduled with tasks for the kids. Not that I begrudged them that time, I loved being a mother and raising my kids, but for years there was just no time for my own indulgences. Today I spent the whole afternoon knitting. And a goodly part of the morning playing my new Professor Layton game. I did manage to squeeze in some housekeeping and laundry but for the most part I whiled away the day with no one making any demands on my time.
There, I think that made me even with Tempe. :)
