After much dithering, my vacation plans for 2011 are finally set. I took a short trip last year to the Chicago area that turned into a Frank Lloyd Wright -centric trip: his birthplace, his Oak Park residence, the Ken Burns documentary…you get the picture. But that was just a long weekend actually. I didn’t do anything for the two years before that. This year I’m taking a full week off work and going someplace I’ve never been: The Florida Keys!
I’ve got reservations at a small resort where I will stay for the full week: Lime Tree Bay Resort. I’ll be in a studio w/kitchen and plan on taking day trips from there. Being right in the middle of the Keys makes trips to Key West or Key Largo and everywhere in between easy side trips. I’ve got my air and car reservations so I’m ready to go. Oh! When, you ask? Actually, very soon: May 14th through the 21st. And, don’t worry, I’ll post Facebook updates, because I’m sure just everyone will want to know exactly where I am and what I’m doing! :)
